4th UK Symposium on Smell & Taste Disorders

Following on from the success of the previous Symposia on Smell and Taste Disorders in 2022-4, Professor Carl Philpott will be hosting the 4th UK Symposium on Smell & Taste Disorders at the Cavonius Centre at Gonville & Caius College in Cambridge on the 4-5th June. This will be conducted in conjunction with the UK Semiochemistry Network Meeting (3-4th June).

This year promises to build upon the success of our previous events, focussing on patient perspectives and presentations from global experts in the field of smell and taste including Prof Matt Lechner, Prof Zara Patel, Prof Basile Landis, Prof Iordannis Konstantinidis, Miss Lisha McClelland, Mr Simon Gane, Dr Saber Sami and Dr Anna Hernandez. Topics covered in the programme include the latest information on investigations, chemosensory testing, current and future management strategies and the latest research developments.

This two-day event is aimed at clinicians and researchers interested in olfaction, gustation and chemosensory disorders. In addition to lectures, there will be practical demonstrations and interactive workshops for attendees to get involved in. The symposium will be a hybrid format enabling those to attend in person or online via Zoom, although in-person attendance is recommended for the full benefit of the symposium experience. CPD points will be awarded for each day of attendance. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided for those attending in person, with an optional course dinner on the Thursday evening in the Fellows’ Dining Room .

Applications are open for poster presentations related to smell and taste disorders. Applicants will need to submit a 250-word abstract to uksmellansdtastesymposium@gmail.com. The abstract submission deadline is 1 st April 2026.
